Way more fun than other small boats

  • Seating on the sides:

You can see and talk to each other. This is way more fun than boats where you have to sit on planks and look at the backs of the heads of those in front of you. And more people will fit in the boat with side seating; there is more room around the outer perimeter of a boat than on planks across the middle. This is a family boat capable of holding 2 adults and 3 or 4 kids. "The whole fam damily"

  • Go ahead: rock the boat:

Unlike other small boats, where you have keep the balance in the center of the boat, this boat can't tip over. No need to worry about "balancing" when moving around or changing seats. It's more fun to not worry about "rocking the boat". (A friend has an aluminum boat, that is bigger than the Safer Boat. But his daughters ran over and wanted to ride in the Safer Boat, so their Dad would quit admonishing them to quit "rocking the boat".)

  • Catch the fish the others can't get to:

When the best fishing is on a remote lake, only reachable with a UTV, this boat will fit in the back. And when you get there, you will be able launch on the shallowest of shorelines. Then you will catch way more fish out in the middle, than those bank fishermen, relegated to the shallow shoreline. And it is more fun when you are all together, chatting and catching fish in close proximity.

  • Dangle your feet in the water:

Or stand up in the boat. Or lean over the side. Or reach way out to bring in a fish. Have more fun on the water without any worry. That's more fun.

  • What about when you are not using the boat:

Finding a place to store your boat (and a trailer) is no fun. And most boats are stored more often than they are used. This boat, when folded away is only 41" X 41" x 33". It will fit in a garage, under a carport, in the back yard. And it is flat on top. You can store other things on top of it. It will take up less room than a canoe, or a jon boat, or an aluminum row boat, or even less than a kayak. With everything inside, it even takes up less room than a single man float tube and gear.

  • What about an inflatable boat?

Well, it is no fun to spend half an hour or more inflating a boat. It is no fun to find that the boat's inflation shrinks over night, then over-expands when the sun comes out. It is no fun to fix air leaks, especially when you are out on the water. It is not fun to deal with multiple packages; one for the boat, another for the floor boards and seating planks, another for the inflator and nozzles, and another for the oars, and another for the motor. And it is no fun to store all of these packages, which are bulky and odd-shaped. It is almost impossible to transport all of those packages on a UTV. We would get all the odd shapes tied down, only to have one or more bounce out when trying to burst up a bank out of a stream bed. (The main reason we invented our boat is because we got sick and tired of dealing with an inflatable.) We want to have fun, not headaches.

Here you see everybody sitting on the sides of the Safer Boat, with no worry about capsizing. No need to balance the weight; grandpa sits on the outside with no issue.

How much weight can the Safer Boat float? Here are 4 guys decked out in heavy winter coats and clothing. Two of them weigh over 230 lbs. Two others are about 170 lbs. They are able to launch in shallow water. The thrusters back them up from shore, and then take them out where they caught over 20 fish in about an hour and a half. Those who were on shore caught 2 fish during the same time. That was fun.

Safer Boat
Family Fun on the Water

We own a big speed boat. At Lake Powell, it is indispensable. But for all of the lakes in the mountains around us, we use our Safer Boat. It is the source of our fishing and family fun way more of the year.
